Now that you are a knowledgeable wine connoisseur after 5 days of "wine immersion", let's
take a small break and go on a trip back in time, 18,000 years or so! |
After a delicious lunch, we will complete our driving day by going further south near the town of Cahors, where our 13th century castle will welcome us for the night. Spend some time relaxing by the superb hotel pool. Later on we will visit the vinification and ageing cellars followed by a welcome rrink and a king's dinner. |
Your Hotel TonightChâteau de Mercuès |
For twelve centuries, the château at Mercuès was the summer residence of the bishops of Cahors. Today the guest rooms, opening onto a breathtaking vista of vineyards, valleys and French gardens, have lost none of their feudal grandeur. In this kingdom of «foie gras», truffles and wine, the cuisine is rich and generous. Meanwhile, Georges Vigouroux’s vintage Cahors age to perfection in the cathedral-like vaults of the cellar. |
